Nashon's "Bird Song" on Canvas

from $77.00
From the artist:

“I grew up dreaming near many cool, calm rivers and lakes. Throughout my life, I’ve had an affinity for swallows. I use the bird often because it symbolizes a ship’s nearness to land, or home, as I like to think. My last name is Holloway. To be a Holloway means to take the “holy,” “hallowed” or “hollow” way. My first name is Ashley, meaning “of the tree of life and death,” and the name I am God-called by is Nashon (nah-shoan), meaning “oracle.” One of my great singer friends says that Holloways, like swallows, beckon adventure just ahead. So, the textures here - for me - give flight to harshness and loss, to fragrant emotion, and to the rhythm in grace we all must find on our way.”
